FAQs
What type of massage should I book?
If this is your first time then please book a 1 hour sports massage, unless you specifically require holistic therapy, e.g., Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, etc. First appointment always includes a full consultation/assessment before any treatment.
Can anyone book treatment?
Provided there are no medical or physical contra-indications, then yes anyone can book treatment. I send every new client a pre-appointment questionnaire to determine any issues beforehand. I see clients from all backgrounds, not just sports, to relieve pain or aid relaxation and rehabilitation. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Can I pay by cash or card?
I accept both payment methods, so please choose whatever suits you best.
What treatment is best for me?
We work together during assessment and initial treatment to find out what works best for you. What works for one client doesn't necessarily work for all.
What should I wear?
I recommend loose comfortable clothing, with many clients preferring to wear shorts. Dignity is of utmost importance at all times and towels are placed to cover your body during the session. Please do not forget underwear and ladies are usually advised to wear a regular bra rather than a sports bra.
Does Sports Massage hurt?
I always work within client pain threshold with all therapies. If a client insists on deep tissue massage or if there is a specific requirement, then this can be more uncomfortable. Any discomfort will ease in a day or so following treatment.
How often will I need to come?
The frequency will need to suit your therapy needs and goals, as well as how you respond to the treatment. Every individual is different so repeat appointments are down to you based on all the above.
