During lockdown number 1, way back in April many healthcare providers were forced to shut down due to the lack of knowledge of the Covid-19 virus. Many people, myself included, struggled to get appointments or medical treatment for painful conditions and injuries and had to 'put up with things' that could have been resolved much quicker had they been treated in a timely fashion.
Now in lockdown number 3, there is much more information on the virus, how it spreads, how to test for it and how to treat it. We even have the great news of several vaccines being rolled out for everyone. In the meantime though our hospitals are still under pressure. Because of the improved knowledge of the virus and the recognised need to take the load away from hospitals, other health care services are allowed to practise during this current lockdown under certain conditions. As a sports massage therapist I can continue to practice from my home treatment room under Covid-secure guidance. If you have an identified mental or physical health condition or injury that is causing pain or having an adverse impact on your mobility or quality of life, that can be relieved with sports massage therapy then please get in touch. Do not sit and suffer in silence. Subject to a risk assessment, if I can help I will.
